Fireball run (don't miss this)

I'd like to thank eveyone who sent us a donation for the fireball run. So far we have had good luck with the car. As we all know, trans am's aren't a car to drive or ride in for a long time and still fell your legs. We have another week before we're done. The brand new 383 sroker is making sure the car is keeping up with Vypers, Corvettes and Laborghinis. Even though it's not a million dollar car, it's getting lots of attention.
Here are some pics.

The owner is a really great guy who is friends with Mr. Barris and Jay Leno. The car was also in the March 08 issue of Revolver with "Bullet for my Valentine" http://www.revolvermag.com/content/bull ... alentine-0

Here's Darrin and I with Elvis' lead guitarist James Burton in Elvis' dressing room. James also played with Cash and many others. He's a great car guy. He and his wife told us about thier collection of classics, including a T/A, and he liked the Knight Rider car. I always forget to smile. I need to work on that...

There's many more to come because this was only day one!

Yeah, Bo. He's an awesome guy. The type that isn't full of himself for what he's done and just hangs out with everyone else like a normal person. Full of great stories too. Limo Bob is in this rally too! He has it pretty easy in his Escolade Limo. He and his crew are pretty cool people. http://www.limobob.com/index.html

Darrin and Dave are to be SOO commended for this...
This is monumental folks...

KITT is BACK!

And frankly, the bump of a 383 is something to behold :-)

Thanks Bo.
I'd like to add that the car Darrin owns is an eveyday driver. He doesn't trailer this car to any shows. It started out as a 1987 V6 Firebird. I give him credit for upgrading the suspention and eveything else to turn it into a Trans Am. I have many hours into this car and could spend many more adding and upgrading things that Darrin buys. He has put 3 V8's in this car (355, 327 and 383) and he has finally found the one that makes it move like it should. With only 300 miles on the new engine when we left we haven't really seen what it can do yet. We are getting it "tweaked in" and have found out it will spin the car around a little more than the old engine. By the time we're done it should either be tuned perfect or blown up. Carefull Michael ;-)

Looks like you kids are having a heck of a time. I've been looking at the Fireball site a lot since you two left my house. BTW....I didn't get to say goodbye...sorry about that.

Keep taking pictures and post often. Be safe, have fun and document the hell out of this trip.

That's amazing. Seriously looks like a once in a lifetime experience.

And James Burton... Wow...

That would have made the trip for me right there. I've played guitar for years but am just now figuring out why everyone always tells you to learn the classic stuff laid down by people like Burton and Chuck Berry. I'd love to just shake his hand and tell him thanks.

Definitely keep documenting your trip. Good luck and be safe.

I'm PISSED! They made a stop in Delhi, La which is only 20 minutes from my house! I didn't even know they were coming through here until I saw it on the 10:00 news...Kinda late now

Since they are only given clues each time they complete a leg of the scavenger hunt, even they don't know where they're going most of the time.

As of a few minutes ago, they were in Tuscaloosa, AL.

The stop Wednesday night is right here in St. Louis.

Dave's gonna call me when him and Darrin get into town and I'm gonna go hang for a little while, check out the Delorean, check out Darrins new engine, etc etc. Should be fun.

Dale, get your ass up here!

So what is the latest status? I've looked on the Fireball website and team 82 has had no data since the beginning of the race...whats up?
